About this item
Workstation builders hunting for a cheap way onto the sWRX8 platform will spot this AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3945WX 12-core CPU at $69.99. The title lists a 4.0GHz clock, tray packaging, new condition and an unlocked chip.
Why does unlocked matter for a Threadripper PRO 3945WX?
Some PRO processors pulled from branded workstations are tied to that maker's motherboards. The title says unlocked, so confirm it in the description or ask the seller, and pair it with an sWRX8 board.
- Tray packaging: usually a bare chip with no retail box or cooler, so check what is actually included.
- Contacts: photos of the underside help confirm there is no damage.
- Memory: check your board's memory requirements before ordering RAM.
- Good fit: home labs, virtualization, rendering and other multi-threaded work.
