About this item
Gamers short on desk space should look at the HyperX Alloy Origins 65, a compact mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting, a wired USB connection and a black US QWERTY layout. A smaller keyboard leaves more room for wide mouse swipes, which helps in shooters. This one is listed open box at $50.00.
Is the HyperX Alloy Origins 65 right for gaming and typing?
65% keyboards usually drop the number pad and the separate function row but keep the arrow keys. That works well for gaming and everyday typing, as long as you don't rely on a numpad for spreadsheets.
- Switch type: the title doesn't name the switches, so check the listing for how they feel and sound.
- Cable: make sure the USB cable comes with this open box unit.
- Keycaps: zoom in on the photos for shiny wear or missing caps.
- Layout: it's US QWERTY, so if you type in another layout, check where the keys sit.
