About this item
Retro PC builders and keyboard collectors hunt for exactly this kind of find. This vintage IBM Preferred PS/2 keyboard, part 28L3584, is described by the seller as new in its original open box. At $27.99, it is an affordable piece for a period-correct build or a classic office setup.
Can I use a PS/2 keyboard on a modern computer?
You can if your motherboard has a PS/2 port or you add a PS/2-to-USB adapter. Simple passive adapters don't work with every keyboard, so an active converter is the safer choice.
- Layout: the word Clavier in the title hints at a French-language layout, so check the key photos closely.
- Box: ask what open box means here and whether any paperwork is included.
- Plastics: look for yellowing or marks in the photos, which often show up on older stock.
- Cable: confirm the connector end looks undamaged.
