About this item
The Keychron V1 Ultra 8K wireless mechanical keyboard brings RGB backlighting and a black finish to desks used for both work and play. The "8K" in the name usually refers to the polling rate, which competitive gamers care about, so confirm the figure in the listing. Going wireless also keeps cables off your desk. It's listed new at $100.00.
Is the Keychron V1 Ultra good for gaming and typing?
A mechanical keyboard works well for both, but how it feels depends on the switches and layout, and the title doesn't state either.
- Switch type: check whether it uses linear, tactile or clicky switches.
- Layout: confirm the keyboard size and whether it includes Mac and Windows keycaps.
- Wireless mode: see whether it connects by Bluetooth, a 2.4GHz receiver or both.
- In the box: look for a cable, receiver and keycap puller.
It's a solid pick for students, coders and gamers.
