About this item
Open-box pricing is the draw here. The Gigabyte B850 AORUS Elite WIFI7 motherboard is listed at $125, giving PC builders a WiFi 7 board for a gaming or workstation build for less than a sealed one usually costs. It's a sensible pick if you're comfortable checking parts yourself.
What should I check on an open-box B850 motherboard?
An open-box board may have been installed before, so the small details matter more than they would with a sealed part.
- Socket: ask for a close-up photo of the CPU socket to check for bent pins, and ask whether the socket cover is still there.
- Accessories: confirm the WiFi antennas, screws and cables are included.
- BIOS: ask which BIOS version is installed and make sure it supports your processor.
- Size: the form factor isn't in the title, so confirm it fits your case.
