About this item
A mini workstation for under $200: the certified refurbished HP Z2 Mini G4 lists an Intel i5-8500 at 3GHz, 8GB DDR4, a 1TB HDD and Windows 10 Pro for $189.99. It suits small offices, home desks and anyone who wants workstation-class hardware without a tower.
Is the HP Z2 Mini G4 workstation a good budget office PC?
For office suites and remote desktop sessions it's capable, though the spinning hard drive will feel slower to boot than an SSD.
- Graphics: the title doesn't mention a GPU, so check whether one is fitted for multi-monitor work.
- Drive upgrade: swapping the 1TB HDD for an SSD is a common speed boost.
- Windows 10: support has ended, so check Windows 11 upgrade eligibility.
- Power supply: make sure it's in the box.
