About this item
Compact business laptops rarely get cheaper than this. The Lenovo ThinkPad X270 here has a 12.5-inch Full HD display, an Intel Core i7-6600U at 2.6GHz, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and Windows 11 for $279.95. The seller lists it as new open box.
Is a ThinkPad X270 still worth it in 2026?
An older i7 paired with an SSD is still usable for email, documents, remote desktop and browsing. It suits travelers, students on a tight budget and anyone who wants a small backup machine. It isn't a gaming laptop.
- Platform age: the i7-6600U is a 6th Gen chip, so ask how Windows 11 was installed and confirm it's activated.
- Battery: ask about battery health and remaining capacity.
- Charger: check that a power adapter is included.
- RAM: ask whether the memory can be expanded if 8GB feels tight.
