About this item
At $149.99, this HP EliteDesk 705 G5 SFF is an inexpensive way to get a full desktop with 16GB of DDR4 memory. It runs an AMD Athlon PRO 300GE with a 500GB HDD and Windows 10 Home, and the BK suffix suggests a black case.
Is an HP EliteDesk 705 G5 with Windows 10 Home still a smart buy?
For light browsing, email and documents it can work, but Windows 10 no longer gets standard security updates. Check whether the hardware supports a Windows 11 upgrade before you commit.
- Speed: a hard drive is slower than an SSD, and swapping one in is a common upgrade.
- Memory: 16GB is generous for a budget desktop.
- Users: best for kids' homework, a guest PC or a basic home desk.
- Refurbished: read the seller's notes on cosmetic condition.
