About this item
The Taiahiro ML-981 mechanical keyboard has a compact black layout and two ways to connect. Use Bluetooth for a clean desk, or plug in a cable when you don't want to pair. At $49.99 new, it's a low-cost way into hot-swappable boards for typists, students and casual gamers.
What does a hot-swappable mechanical keyboard let you do?
Hot-swap sockets let you pull out switches and put in new ones without soldering. You can change how it types later instead of buying a whole new keyboard.
- Switch type: the title doesn't name the switches, so check the listing to see which ones come installed.
- Layout: "compact" can mean several sizes. Check the photos for arrow keys and a function row.
- Cable: make sure a cable is included for wired use.
- Pairing: check how many Bluetooth devices it remembers if you switch between a laptop and a tablet.
