About this item
Listed as open box at $1,500, this iBUYPOWER Y40 desktop PC is a prebuilt, but the listing title leaves out every key spec. Open box can mean a good saving, but only once you know what's inside the case.
How do you judge an open box iBUYPOWER Y40?
Start with the component list in the description. Then look at the photos for signs of use. Whether it's right for gaming, streaming or content creation depends on the graphics card and processor in this particular unit.
- Core specs: confirm the CPU, GPU, RAM and storage. Message the seller if they aren't listed.
- Open-box status: ask why it was opened and if all accessories and cables are included.
- Windows: check that the operating system is installed and activated.
- Shipping: ask how the tower will be packed. Glass panels and graphics cards need extra protection.
