About this item
The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is a high-spec Chromebook. This new unit has an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 14" WUXGA touchscreen. It's listed at $800, and the title also mentions AI. It suits students, writers and remote workers who spend their day in web apps. The Spin name points to a fold-back design, so check the photos.
Is the Chromebook Plus Spin 714 worth $800?
If you mostly work in a browser and Google apps, an i7 with 16GB of RAM gives you plenty of headroom. If you need Windows-only software, a Chromebook is the wrong pick.
- Software: confirm the apps you rely on run on ChromeOS.
- Storage: 256GB is a lot for a Chromebook, but plan cloud backups anyway.
- Pen support: check the listing if you want to draw or mark up files.
- Charger: make sure it's in the box.
