About this item
Reviving an older AM4 build or putting together a budget gaming PC? The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6-core, 12-thread AM4 CPU in this listing is described as new and sealed. It comes with a Wraith cooler, so you may not need a separate heatsink for a basic setup.
Does the Ryzen 5 5500 work in my AM4 motherboard?
It uses the AM4 socket, but older boards may need a BIOS update first. Check your motherboard maker's CPU support list before you order.
- Graphics: the title doesn't mention integrated graphics, so check whether your build needs a separate graphics card.
- Seal: look at the photos of the box and seal to confirm they match the new, sealed description.
- Cooler fit: the bundled Wraith cooler is meant for AM4, but confirm your case has enough clearance.
- Use cases: it's a sensible pick for budget gaming builds, school PCs and office machines.
