About this item
A 480Hz refresh rate is the headline on this LG UltraGear 27GX790A-B 27-inch OLED gaming monitor, and it is aimed squarely at competitive shooters and esports players. The open box listing at $600 pairs it with QHD 1440p resolution and a 0.03ms response time.
Do you need a 480Hz 1440p OLED monitor?
If you play fast competitive titles and your PC can push very high frame rates, the extra smoothness can be noticeable. For slower single-player games, a lower refresh rate may be enough.
- Frame rates: check that your graphics card and CPU can reach high frame rates at 1440p in your games.
- Cable and port: confirm which display cable is included and that your GPU has a matching output for the full refresh rate.
- OLED panel health: ask about burn-in, dead pixels and screen scratches.
- Stand and box: check that the stand and power supply are included.
