About this item
A firewall router mini PC built around the AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314 gives home-lab tinkerers and small offices a dedicated box for network duty. The title lists four 2.5G ports and names pfSense and Proxmox, so it's aimed at use as a router appliance, a virtualization host or a small home server.
Can this firewall router mini PC run pfSense or Proxmox?
The listing markets it for both, but whether it works depends on the exact network chipset and your install. Read the seller's description and look up community notes on this hardware before you commit.
- Barebone or not: check whether RAM and storage are included or need to be added.
- Network controller: look for the NIC model, since driver support varies between firewall distributions.
- Power supply: confirm an adapter comes in the box.
- Headroom: if you plan to run several VMs, note the maximum memory the seller lists.
