About this item
At $190, an open-box Dell OptiPlex 7080 Micro with an i5-10500T (2.30GHz) is a strong bargain, especially with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD already installed. The title also lists AC and WiFi, which helps if you can't run Ethernet to your desk.
Should you upgrade this OptiPlex 7080 Micro from Windows 10 Home?
It comes with Windows 10 Home, which no longer gets free mainstream security updates. 10th-gen chips like the i5-10500T meet Microsoft's Windows 11 processor requirements, so ask the seller whether it can be upgraded.
- Confirm that 'AC' means the power adapter is included.
- Open box can mean anything from unused to lightly handled, so read the seller's notes.
- The Home edition lacks Pro features like BitLocker management and Remote Desktop hosting.
- It's a good fit for students, home offices and media streaming.
