About this item
Collectors and retro PC builders looking for a vintage AST keyboard can find one here: the AST BTC 5140M Windows PS/2 keyboard, which the seller calls rare and lists as new in its retail box. It carries the FCC marking E5XK8M104M10U, which helps you match it to the exact model. The PS/2 plug makes it a period-correct match for older desktops. It's priced at $31.95.
Will a vintage PS/2 keyboard work on a modern computer?
Only if the computer has a PS/2 port or you use a suitable adapter. Many enthusiasts buy keyboards like this for machines from the same era instead.
- Check the retail box photos for damage, since packaging affects collector value.
- Match the FCC number on the label to the listing.
- Ask whether the box has ever been opened.
- Old plastic can yellow, so look closely at the keyboard's color.
