About this item
Need to relocate an NVMe drive or connect an M.2 slot to PCIe? This PCIe x4 3.0 to M.2 NVMe riser card with an extension cord is listed new at $50.04. It is designed for 2280-length drives in the M.2 NGFF form factor. It suits small form factor builds, custom cases and test benches where the slot sits in an awkward spot.
Which way does this PCIe x4 to M.2 riser adapter connect?
Depending on the design, risers like this can work in either direction, so match each end to your setup.
- Connectors: study the photos to see which end plugs into the motherboard.
- Cable length: the length is not stated, so check the listing before you plan your layout.
- Speed: it is rated PCIe 3.0 x4, so a faster PCIe 4.0 drive may run at 3.0 speeds.
- Drive size: it lists 2280, so check whether drives of other lengths will fit.
