Is an open-box MacBook Pro 16 M5 Max a smart buy?
It can be, if the details check out. At this price, treat the seller's description as a starting point and verify everything.
- Activation Lock: ask the seller to confirm it's signed out of iCloud.
- Battery: request the cycle count. A never-used unit should show very few cycles.
- Charger: check that the power adapter and cable are included.
- Configuration: match the 18C/40C, 64GB and 2TB specs to an About This Mac screenshot.
