About this item
If your desk is short on space, the Minisforum UN1290 mini PC fits an Intel Core i9-12900H/HK, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD into a small white case, with Intel Iris Xe graphics. It's listed new at $575.00 and suits office multitaskers, programmers and home users who want desktop power without a tower.
Can a mini PC with an i9-12900H replace a full desktop?
For office work, coding, browsing and photo work, it often can. Iris Xe is integrated graphics, though, so it isn't built for demanding 3D games or heavy GPU rendering.
- Ports: if you run more than one monitor, check the listing for display outputs and USB ports.
- Operating system: the title doesn't mention Windows, so confirm whether an OS is installed.
- In the box: look for the power adapter and any VESA mount.
- Memory headroom: 32GB handles lots of browser tabs, IDEs and light virtual machines.
