About this item
The main draw of the Tofu Redux V2 Venom MX custom keyboard is skipping the hunt for a case, plate and parts. It is a finished enthusiast build, listed open box at $310. The seller says it comes with extras, which can add real value if they're spelled out.
Is a pre-built Tofu Redux V2 mechanical keyboard worth it over building your own?
It can be, if the build is clean and the extras are useful. Hobbyists, programmers and streamers who want a custom board now, rather than after weeks of collecting parts, tend to benefit most.
- Ask the seller to list every extra included.
- Confirm which switches are installed and whether the board is hot-swappable.
- Check that all keys and any lighting work in a test video.
- Look closely at the photos for marks on the case.
