About this item
The Dell Latitude 5490 with i5-8250U and 8GB DDR4 is a familiar sight in offices, and this certified refurbished unit costs $331.99. It has a 256GB M.2 SSD, a 14-inch FHD screen and Windows 10 Pro.
Is a refurbished Latitude 5490 still worth buying?
For email, web apps, Office and remote desktop, yes. The catch is software. Windows 10 no longer gets standard security updates from Microsoft, so plan on moving to Windows 11 if your hardware and license allow it.
- Battery: ask for the health percentage on an older business laptop.
- Memory: 8GB is fine for basics, but heavy multitaskers may feel limited.
- Charger: confirm it's included.
- Cosmetics: refurbished grading varies, so check the photos.
