About this item
A refurbished HP EliteBook 840 G5 is one of the cheaper ways to get a 14" business laptop. This one lists an Intel Core i5-8350U, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro for $336.99. The seller says up front that battery health is low.
Does low battery health rule out this EliteBook 840 G5?
Not if it mostly stays on a desk. Plugged in, it's an affordable home-office or student machine for browsing, documents and video calls. Just don't expect long sessions away from an outlet.
- Battery: ask the seller for the exact health percentage or the runtime they measured.
- Charger: you'll depend on it, so confirm it's included.
- Storage: 256GB is modest. Consider cloud storage or a USB drive.
- Cosmetics: check the photos for wear on the keys and lid.
