About this item
For a no-frills 15-inch work laptop, this certified refurbished Dell Latitude E5540 comes with a 4th Gen Intel i5, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB SATA hard drive and Windows 10 Home for $229.99.
Is a Dell Latitude E5540 still usable today?
Yes, for basic office work, email, web browsing, and point-of-sale or shop-floor jobs. A spinning hard drive and 4GB of RAM will feel slow next to modern SSD laptops, so it works better as a second or single-task machine than as a student's everyday laptop.
- Windows version: the listing says Windows 10 Home. Think about how long you plan to use it and whether you'll need to upgrade.
- Upgrade potential: check the listing for notes on adding RAM or switching to an SSD.
- Battery: ask about battery health.
- Charger: confirm it's included.
