About this item

Competitive players who want both sharp detail and very high speed should look at this new MSI 27 inch QHD 1440p 240Hz monitor, listed at $356.99. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible mode, so it pairs well with most modern graphics cards. The title also says 0.03, which is probably the response time in milliseconds. Check that in the listing.

Is 1440p at 240Hz the right fit for competitive gaming?

For a lot of serious players, yes. 1440p is sharper than 1080p, and 240Hz gives very fluid motion in fast shooters. You'll need a strong GPU to make full use of both.
