About this item
Need an affordable starting point for a home server, media box or budget office build? This Dell OptiPlex 5060 PC with a 3.20GHz Core i7-8700 and 8GB of DDR4 RAM is sold open box with no hard drive or SSD, so you choose your own storage.
Can you use a Dell OptiPlex 5060 i7-8700 without a drive?
Not as it comes. You'll need to fit a drive and install an operating system. That makes it a good fit for tinkerers, and a poor one for buyers who want to plug in and start working.
- Storage: Budget for a drive, and check the photos for available bays and connectors.
- Accessories: The title mentions accessories, so confirm exactly what's included.
- Memory: 8GB is fine for light use. Plan an upgrade for heavier multitasking.
- Case size: OptiPlex models come in several sizes, so check which one this is.
At $325.00, it's a capable six-core platform for a DIY project.
