About this item
The Dell T5810 with a Xeon E5-2690 v4 is a budget way into workstation hardware at $626.99. This Certified - Refurbished tower has 32GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD for the system, a 2TB hard drive for bulk files, K600 graphics and Windows 10.
Is a Xeon E5-2690 v4 T5810 still worth it with Windows 10?
The SSD-plus-hard-drive setup works well for a file server, media server, home lab or office tower. Windows 10 no longer gets standard free security updates, so plan to upgrade the OS or switch to something like Linux.
- OS path: check whether the listing says the machine can run Windows 11.
- Graphics: the K600 is a basic card for running your displays.
- Drives: ask for health or test results on the 2TB hard drive.
- Extras: see whether cables or a keyboard and mouse are included.
