About this item
A Pwnagotchi digital pet is a Raspberry Pi gadget for Wi-Fi security hobbyists. It reacts to the wireless networks it encounters. This new listing is sold as ready to go with no setup needed, built with a Raspberry Pi and a Waveshare V4, for $158.98. It suits cybersecurity students, capture-the-flag players and makers who would rather skip flashing and configuring it themselves.
Is a prebuilt Pwnagotchi legal to use?
Owning one is generally fine. However, capturing data from networks you don't own, or don't have permission to test, can break the law. Use it only on your own networks or with authorization.
- Pi model: the title doesn't say which Raspberry Pi is used, so check the description.
- Power: confirm whether a battery or cable is included.
- Case: look at the photos to see whether it comes in a case or bare.
- Software: ask which Pwnagotchi version is loaded and whether the SD card is included.
