About this item
A new Lenovo ThinkStation P5 workstation built around the Intel Xeon W5-2445 is aimed at people whose software rewards a workstation-class processor. That includes CAD engineers, 3D artists, video editors and data analysts running long renders or simulations. At $1,295, look closely at what is included beyond the CPU.
Is the Lenovo ThinkStation P5 Xeon W5-2445 a good fit for CAD and rendering?
The Xeon W platform is designed for professional workloads. Real-world performance still depends on memory, storage and graphics, and none of those appear in the title.
- Memory and storage: check how much RAM and which drive are installed, if any.
- Graphics: confirm whether a professional GPU is included or the slots are empty.
- Warranty claim: the title mentions 3-year onsite coverage. Ask the seller how it is registered and whether it transfers to you.
- Operating system: see whether Windows is licensed and installed.
