About this item
This Alienware m16 R1 RTX 4090 gaming laptop pairs a 7945HX processor with 32GB of memory, 2TB of storage, a 240Hz display and a Cherry MX keyboard, offered open box at $1,899.99. The catch is in the title: the seller lists it as BIOS locked.
What does a BIOS-locked Alienware m16 mean for a buyer?
A BIOS password can block firmware settings, boot options and sometimes OS reinstalls, and it may not be easy to remove. Ask the seller exactly what is locked and whether the operating system boots normally before you buy.
- Lock details: confirm what works and what doesn't with the password in place.
- Open-box condition: study the photos for keyboard wear and screen marks.
- Accessories: check whether the charger is included.
- Coverage: the eBay Money Back Guarantee applies if it isn't as described.
Best for tinkerers comfortable with that trade-off in exchange for RTX 4090 power at this price.
