What should I check on an open box Ryzen 9 9950X?
Open box means the packaging has been opened, so look closely at the photos and description.
- Contacts: AM5 chips have flat contact pads on the underside. Look for scratches or residue in the photos.
- What's included: confirm whether the box and any cooler are part of the sale.
- Motherboard: you'll need an AM5 board, and its BIOS has to support this chip.
- Cooling: plan for a strong air or liquid cooler for long, heavy workloads.
