About this item
Old, dried-out compound is a common reason a CPU or GPU runs hotter than it should, and ARCTIC MX-4 thermal paste is a popular choice for repasting. This listing is a new 4 g amount for $6.99, sold by an independent eBay seller.
How much ARCTIC MX-4 thermal paste do I get in a 4 g pack?
Four grams is usually enough for more than one desktop CPU application if you use a thin layer. You may also have enough left for a graphics card. Actual coverage depends on chip size and how you apply it.
- Clean first: wipe off the old grease with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Go thin: a pea-sized dot or a thin spread is usually plenty for a desktop processor.
- Check the listing: look for the 4 g marking and sealed packaging in the photos.
- Laptops and consoles: useful for maintenance jobs, but follow a guide for your exact model.
