About this item
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500X3D is a 6-core, 12-thread AM4 processor. It's a good choice for gamers who want to upgrade their current AM4 build instead of switching to a new platform. This one is new and sold as an OEM tray chip.
Will the Ryzen 5 5500X3D work in my AM4 motherboard?
The seller says the newest BIOS is needed. Update your motherboard's BIOS while your current processor is still installed, because the system may not boot after the swap otherwise.
- Tray means bare: OEM tray CPUs usually come without a cooler or retail box, so plan to get an AM4 cooler.
- BIOS version: check your motherboard maker's support page for the latest release.
- Thermal paste: have some ready if your cooler doesn't come with it.
- Pins: check the photos for bent pins and see how it's packed.
