About this item
This Dell 17.3-inch laptop with DVD-RW drive and Windows 7 Pro is a niche find. It's listed as new, with an Intel 1.70GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a backlit keyboard. It's mainly useful for shops, labs and offices that still run older software or need a built-in disc drive.
Should I buy a Dell 17.3" laptop with Windows 7 Pro today?
Only if you have a specific reason. Microsoft ended Windows 7 support years ago, so it no longer gets security updates. It's best kept offline or used for older programs and equipment.
- Exact model: the title doesn't name the Dell model or the processor family, so check the listing.
- License: ask whether a Windows 7 Pro license key or certificate of authenticity is included.
- Value: at $798, compare it with current laptops if you don't need Windows 7.
- DVD-RW: handy for burning discs and reading older media.
