About this item
This IBM NetVista retro gaming PC runs Windows 98 and XP, which makes it a quick way into DOS, 9x and early-2000s games on the hardware they were made for. The title lists a Pentium 4 at 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM, a Radeon 9600 graphics card and a 120GB SSD in place of an old hard drive.
Why pick a Windows 98 and XP retro gaming PC over emulation?
Some older games have timing or driver problems in emulators that real hardware avoids. With two operating systems, you can run each game on the one from its era.
- Boot setup: check the listing for how Win 98 and XP are set up (dual boot or separate drives).
- Sound: find out what audio hardware is installed, because it matters for 98-era games.
- Condition: it's open box, so look at photos of the case, ports and drives.
- Extras: see whether a keyboard, mouse or cables are included.
A fun pick for collectors and anyone who misses LAN parties.
