About this item
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 desktop CPU is a cheap way to get six cores. It fits Socket AM4 boards, runs at 3.6GHz and has a 65W rating. This new listing includes a cooling fan, so first-time builders and anyone upgrading an older AM4 system can get started without buying a separate cooler.
Is the Ryzen 5 5500 good for a budget gaming or office PC?
A 6-core, 65W chip handles everyday work, schoolwork and light streaming. With a dedicated graphics card, it also works for entry-level gaming.
- Graphics: the title doesn't mention integrated graphics, so plan on a separate graphics card or confirm in the listing.
- BIOS: older AM4 boards may need an update, so check your board maker's CPU support list.
- Cooler: confirm that the included fan has an AM4 mount.
- Value: $85 gets you both the CPU and the fan.
