About this item
An IBM Industrial Model M keyboard listed as new in box is a rare find for collectors and for typists who love the sound and feel of buckling springs. Each key press triggers a spring that buckles with a crisp, tactile snap. That mechanism made the Model M a favorite among vintage keyboard fans.
Is a new-in-box IBM Model M keyboard worth $499.95?
For collectors, unused examples are scarce, so the premium reflects condition more than features. If you plan to type on it every day, compare the price against used Model M listings.
- Check the photos for the box, the keyboard's label and any included cable.
- Ask which connector it uses so you can plan an adapter for a modern PC.
- Confirm the layout and key language in the listing.
- Look for notes on storage, yellowing or box damage.
