About this item
Retro PC collectors hunting for a Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite Bluetooth keyboard and mouse set should look at this one. The seller lists it as new and sealed, a combo from the Windows XP years, priced at $300. At that price it makes more sense as a collection or display piece than as an everyday typing tool.
What should I check on a sealed vintage keyboard and mouse?
Packaging condition matters most. Ask for clear photos of every side, the seams and any shrink wrap, because box wear affects collector appeal.
- Box shots: look for dents, tears or yellowing in the photos.
- Compatibility: a Bluetooth set from the XP era may not work with modern systems. Check the listing or ask the seller if you plan to use it.
- Batteries: ask whether any batteries were packed inside, since old cells can leak.
- Buyer protection: the eBay Money Back Guarantee applies.
A strong centerpiece for a vintage computing shelf.
