About this item
A SGIN 17.3 inch FHD laptop for $239.99 gives you a big Full HD screen, 8GB of DDR4 memory, a 512GB SSD and Windows 11 at an entry-level price. The seller filed it under desktops, but the title clearly describes a laptop. It's built for home browsing, schoolwork, spreadsheets and streaming rather than heavy gaming.
Is an 8GB 17.3" budget laptop enough for students?
For notes, research, video calls and office apps, 8GB is a workable starting point. It can feel tight if you open lots of browser tabs or run editing tools.
- Processor: only "2.8 GHz" is given, so look for the exact chip model in the listing.
- Windows edition: the title is cut off at "Pr", so check whether it's Windows 11 Pro.
- Battery and charger: confirm the battery details and that a charger is in the box.
- Upgrades: ask whether the RAM can be expanded later.
