About this item
Business travelers and remote workers often look for a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9. This certified refurbished unit has a 14" WUXGA touch display, a Core i7-1185G7, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and Windows 10 Pro, all for $599.
What should I check on a certified refurbished X1 Carbon?
Refurbished listings vary, so focus on the parts that wear out: the battery, the keyboard and the touchscreen.
- Battery health: ask for a capacity reading if the description doesn't include one.
- Windows 10 Pro: Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10, so ask whether it's been updated or plan to upgrade to Windows 11 yourself.
- "2YR" in the title: confirm in the listing who provides that coverage and what the terms are.
- Charger: make sure a power adapter is included.
This is a sensible way to get ThinkPad build quality for well under new-laptop prices, and the purchase is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
