About this item

If you build or refurbish PCs regularly, a two-pack of Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound keeps a spare on the bench. This new listing includes two AS5-3.5G packs of 3.5 g each, 7 g in total, for $17.99.

Is Arctic Silver 5 a good thermal compound for CPU upgrades?

It is a long-standing choice among PC builders for CPU coolers. Like any paste, results depend on a clean surface and a thin, even layer.

• Who it suits: system builders, repair techs and hobbyists working on multiple machines.
• Prep: remove old paste fully with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
• Application: keep compound off the motherboard parts around the socket.
• Genuine packaging: compare photos and seller feedback before ordering.
