About this item
The hood lock and sensor are the giveaway: this open-box HP Z4 G4 workstation with a Xeon W-2123 is configured for places where chassis security matters, such as labs, offices and shared workspaces. It's listed with 8GB of RAM, two 1TB hard drives and a P400 graphics card for $1,250.
Is a Xeon W-2123 Z4 G4 with P400 graphics right for CAD work?
The P400 is an entry-level professional card suited to 2D CAD and lighter 3D models. Heavier rendering would call for more memory and a stronger graphics card.
- RAM headroom: 8GB is modest for a workstation, so ask about free memory slots.
- Drives: two 1TB HDDs give plenty of room for files, and you can add an SSD for speed.
- Operating system: the title doesn't mention one, so confirm what's installed.
- Open-box condition: review photos of the case and lock.
