About this item
Whether you're mounting a new cooler or your system runs hotter than it used to, ARCTIC MX-4 thermal paste is a staple for CPU and GPU work. This 4 g listing is sold new by an independent eBay seller for $6.99, so it's an easy add-on to a build or repair order.
How much CPU thermal paste do I actually need?
Only a thin layer, enough to fill the tiny gaps between the chip and the cooler. Depending on chip size, 4 g can cover several applications.
- Clean first: remove the old compound with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Laptops: repasting can help an aging gaming laptop. Follow a teardown guide for your exact model.
- Graphics cards: check whether your card also uses thermal pads that need replacing.
- Extras: confirm in the listing whether a spreader is included.
