About this item
This Dell MRT0D Mellanox ConnectX-4 dual port 25Gb adapter 2-pack lets you add fast networking to two machines at once, like a server and a storage box in a homelab. The listing covers two CX4121C cards, sold as Certified - Refurbished for $59.99 total.
Is the Mellanox ConnectX-4 CX4121C a good fit for a homelab?
If you want 25Gb links between a NAS, a hypervisor host or a workstation, a dual port network card is a common choice. Before you order, check that each machine has a free slot that fits the card and that your operating system supports it.
- Look at the listing photos for bracket height (full or low profile) so the cards fit your cases.
- The title doesn't mention transceivers or DAC cables, so plan to buy them separately unless the seller says they're included.
- Ask the seller what their refurbished grading covers.
- With two cards, you can run a simple direct link between two machines.
