About this item
This Dell XPS 8960 barebones listing is a starting point, not a working computer. You get the MT case with the motherboard and a 460W power supply, but no CPU, RAM or hard drive. It's listed new at $299.99.
What do you need to complete a Dell XPS 8960 barebones build?
At minimum, you'll need a compatible processor, memory, a storage drive and an operating system. It suits DIY builders and anyone repairing or upgrading an existing XPS 8960.
- CPU compatibility: confirm the motherboard's socket and supported processors before buying parts.
- Cooling: check whether a CPU cooler is included.
- Graphics: a 460W supply limits your GPU options, so check the power needs of any card you plan to add.
- Total cost: add up the parts and compare the total with a complete desktop.
