About this item
Few upgrades cost less than a pack of Arctic MX-4 thermal paste. This 4g size, listed at $4.94, is meant for CPU and GPU heat sinks, making it a practical buy for anyone replacing a cooler, assembling a first gaming PC or cleaning out an older laptop that runs warm.
When should you replace CPU thermal paste?
Fresh paste is needed whenever a cooler is removed, and it is worth considering on older systems whose temperatures have crept up. Wipe off old, dried compound completely before applying new paste.
- 4g covers a handful of applications; frequent builders may want a bigger size.
- A pea-sized dot is enough for most desktop CPUs.
- Look for clear packaging photos to help spot counterfeits.
- Have isopropyl alcohol and lint-free wipes ready before you start.
