About this item
If you already have spare memory and a drive, this open box GMKtec M6 Ultra barebones mini PC can save you money. It has an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS for $219.95, but it comes without RAM or an SSD.
What do I need to add to a barebones mini PC like the GMKtec M6 Ultra?
At minimum, you need memory, a storage drive and an operating system. Before you buy parts, check the listing or the manufacturer's spec sheet for the supported RAM type and SSD format.
- No RAM, no SSD: budget for both on top of the price.
- Operating system: you'll need to install one yourself.
- Open box contents: confirm a power adapter is included.
- Uses: once it's set up, it's a compact option for a home server, an office desk or a living room media box.
It's a good project for home lab fans who like choosing their own parts.
