About this item
Looking for an AMD Ryzen 5 5500X to refresh an AM4 build without changing your motherboard? This 6-core Zen 3 desktop processor runs at a 3.7GHz base clock. The seller lists it as new with a cooling fan, so a budget gaming or home office PC can be up and running without a separate cooler.
Is the Ryzen 5 5500X a good AM4 upgrade?
It can be a sensible step up for older AM4 systems, as long as your board supports it. Check your motherboard maker's CPU support list and required BIOS version before ordering.
- Socket: AM4, so it pairs with AM4 boards, not AM5.
- Cooling: the title says a cooling fan is included. Confirm in the photos that it's the boxed cooler.
- Graphics: the title doesn't mention integrated graphics, so plan for a graphics card or check the description.
- Packaging: look for clear photos of the box and seal.
