About this item
For a smooth, non-clicky build, 90 Kailh Box Yellow linear switches at $20 make a budget-friendly batch. They're 3-pin and listed as open box by an independent eBay seller.
How many keys can 90 Kailh Box Yellow linear switches cover?
Ninety covers a typical tenkeyless layout of around 87 keys, or a 60% or 65% board with spares left over. A full-size 104-key board needs more.
- 3-pin fit: 3-pin switches fit both 3-pin and 5-pin PCB sockets. They work best with a plate for stability.
- Linear feel: there's no bump or click, a feel many people prefer for gaming and fast typing.
- Count check: ask whether all 90 are present in this open-box lot.
- Socket type: make sure your hot-swap board accepts MX-style switches.
