About this item
Fingerprint unlock on a Mac usually means buying an Apple keyboard, but this standalone external Touch ID button for Mac is listed as working with no Apple keyboard required. The item is sold open box.
Will an external Touch ID button work with my Mac?
That's the key question, and the title doesn't name supported models or macOS versions. Check the description for compatibility with your exact Mac before buying, especially for a Mac mini, Mac Studio or an older machine.
- Connection: the title ends in USBCV, so ask the seller to confirm the port type.
- Setup: look for how fingerprints are enrolled and whether extra software is needed.
- Open box: check the sensor surface for scratches.
- Good fit for: people using third-party or mechanical keyboards on a Mac.
