About this item
Want fingerprint login without buying a whole new keyboard? This standalone Apple Touch ID button comes as an external unit, and the title states that no Apple keyboard is required. It's an open-box item at $149.99.
Will a standalone Apple Touch ID button work with my Mac?
The title doesn't spell out compatibility. Ask the seller which Macs and macOS versions it's been used with, and how it connects.
- Build: Check the listing for how the button is constructed and what's inside the enclosure.
- Connection: Confirm whether it's wired or wireless, and which cable is included.
- Setup: Ask about the pairing steps and fingerprint enrollment.
- Open box: Look for clear photos of the sensor surface.
It's a neat option if you pair a third-party keyboard with a Mac desktop.
